One of the first spots we pulled off the Cabot Trail for. A gravel road led past an old cemetery to this point. A very nice beach is to the right.
Rachael Dunne What a beautiful view! You have inspired me to add a road trip to my 101 list. I've always wanted to go on a road trip around the coast of the UK or across Europe. It would have to be by car though, I'm not brave enough to do it on a bike!

This was taken at the beginning of the long causeway that leads to the North part of the island.

No international plans booked yet, but it's nice to know I'll be able to indulge once I find the place I want to go. Looking forward to peppering this baby with all kinds of stamps!

These questions are an interesting mental checkup on yourself - which when answered honestly reflected different priorities than I was living. I haven't sold everything and moved to the woods (yet), but it was a good glimpse into what is and what could be. Some answers weren't a full sentence, others were a full page. Worth trying out!

I'm no Android employee, but I did manage to build a simple one page app with Android SDK. Looking forward to chipping away at more coding knowledge! If this is something that interests you, check out Udacity.
This is another one I struggled to check off. While I did take a course in intro Spanish, much of the language has left me. That said, while I was in the course I made reasonable progress with the language. Unfortunately language is one of those things that when it's not in use, it leaves me. Nevertheless I'm glad I took the course, and I look forward to dabbling in other languages.

Myself on the left, then my friends Chris, and Taylor. Fuelled up for the start of our journey.
A blog post will come later, but for now know that I travelled the perimeter of Prince Edward Island, Canada, with a couple of friends. The trip was 3 days and we road close to 1000kms, covering the South Shore and some of the West Coast Day 1, the rest of the West Coast and the North Shore Day 2, and finally we did the entire eastern loop Day 3 which was about a 400km day.

I saw some pretty amazing things, and this was all to be found in my native province. The trip really fuelled the desire to go further with motorcycle traveling. It is my hope to do a cross-Canada trip in 2017, and a few years thereafter to travel the US, possibly down to Mexico. Ted Simon and his book Jupiter's Travels has been a huge influence on these ideas. I hope, like him, I can rise to see them through.

This one was certainly tricky, and I'm not sure it's something I could ever truly move to done from "in progress", as we should constantly look at our lives and ask ourselves "can I do with less". I've certainly had my share of junk that I've held on to "just in case" - and of course it had a layer of dust on it.

One of my best friends introduced me to minimalism, and it has been a huge factor in how I've dealt with my life over the past several years. Thankfully I have him around to help keep me in check during my moments of weakness. This summer, I was able to get rid of a lot of other items that served no purpose in the way I run my life. Getting rid of all those things gave me some cash to get something that has added value to my life. I have less, but really, I have more. If you haven't checked out The Minimalists yet, I recommend you do soon. While their are multiple people who help popularize Minimalism in the world, Josh Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus share the message in a way that I feel really resonates with people.

While I didn't own this house, I was the only one living it - by myself in the country. It was an awesome place to live, and inspired a lot of songwriting and writing in general. I learned a lot about myself and my ability to live solo, in a more isolated environment than previously before. Though it was a short stint, this place really did feel like my home and not a rental. I look forward to having a property of my own someday, and a dwelling as well, but for now I feel good checking off having lived in my own home.
Didn't realize the ferry schedule to the island would book up so quickly. Will plan another trip much in advance knowing this.

A pic of me jamming at the PEIsland Jazz Night - shared the stage with Dylan Menzie that night.

Great little spot to setup the hammocks - will remember this one for future excursions!
It's hard to say "when" a person learns how to play an instrument. The first chord? The first song? Are the criteria different for a first-timer versus an experienced instrumentalist? For me, I can say that I know over 10 chords and have written and recorded (roughly, mind) two songs. I think it's fair to say that I could follow along with most songs I was presented, and, I can make my way reasonably through REMs "Losing my Religion" - which is trickier than it sounds.

So, another one off the list. Here's to many a mando moment in the future. After all, with such a portable instrument, there's no reason why I can't take it along with me!

This was one of the more anticipated goals on my list. Bringing it back to flesh and determination. I was proud to have shared this experience with a group of fellow music students.

1st time donating and it was great! Didn't hurt at all (except a little pinch) and I didn't suffer any "wooziness". I look forward to donating many more times and I hope to have friends join me!

This is me conducting my first official composition. It's a choral work titled "In Memoria Praeteritorium" which is Latin for "In Memory of Those Past". I wrote it in honour of people who we have lost recently, or not so recently, whose faces are on the brink of our memory.

First time ever playing ice hockey (and I'm from Canada!), in fact it was the first time I've ever skated with a hockey stick. I even managed to score a goal! This photo is a shot taken after I scored.
