Put money in my savings account every month

Jan 2024 - $700 in contingency, $ in emergency.
February - $700 in contingency
March - $700 in contingency
April - $1400 in contingency
May - $600 in contingency, $100 in emergency

Initially I put £41.44 in my account in line with my 'Save $50 dollars a month' goal.
However, since I have put another £30 in - Total £71. 44.
I budget for £10 a day spends so when I don't spend that I will add it to my savings. It may mean I need to take little amounts back for food shopping or what not but my total come the end of the month will hopefully be larger than the $50 I initially put in.
Feeling good about this goal as I am not particularly good with money and it's making me think twice about what I spend my money on.
