Note, this is 1800 Miles over the course of 1 year, with you and up to 9 friends.
Day 1 : 3.16km down , 2859.84 to go.
I DID IT!
Now to find another walking app that is as inspiring as this one was ...
Started in 2020 as I prepared my through-hike of France. Used my smart watch data each week.
I've set up camp near Henneth Anun. Just 133,19 km left to go!
The ring has been destroyed!!!
Now just to get the heck out of here.
I've been going slow for a couple of days with an aching foot, but I have now joined the orc march and only have 375 km left to go. Nasty orcses.
Finished Faramir's food. Great. Now I'll go hungry the rest of the way :-(
I've reached Cirith Ungol. Less than 500 km to go!
I've seen the Black Gate and realized I cannot go that way. Turning back towards Ithilien. Bummer.
Being attacked by orcs today. Onwards to the Argonath.
Just started the walk to Rivendell, sad the app is no longer available. I've almost made it to the Brandywine Bridge.
Will be skipping and dancing across the bridge of Khazad -dum today :-)
I've reached Redhorn Pass. Not looking forward to being attacked by wargs in the near future.
Slowed down a TON at work due to no cases, but still getting some steps in.
Took most of July off from tracking due to heat and smoke and personal stuff, but back at it now. 1600 miles!
Can't believe how close to the end I'm getting.
Triple digit temps slowing me down to nothing on the weekends, but my job is still so much walking and sprinting and stairs.
Mordor in my sights.
It's tough going now. Yesterday I reached the "3 days after Rivendell" milestone, and all I can say is that it's been a LOT longer than 3 days sinde Rivendell...
Big flurry of milestones.
Currently sitting on Glorfindel's horse, holding on for dear life and hoping the black riders won't get me.
Past the halfway point!
Almost a thousand miles in, almost halfway there. Hard to believe.
Bucket list travel destinations
I made it past Tookland so far with 8.43 miles of walking today.
Oh! Oh! I know! I know!
Well over 500 miles and it's April. This job is ridiculous.
I've reached Weathertop! Haven't logged today's kilometers yet, but I know I have survived the attack and have started making my way away from Weathertop.
I've had some days lately with very little walking, which makes those days when I walk more than 10 km extra sweet. But I am definitely not sure if I will be able to complete the walk in less than a year.
I left Bree some days ago and expect to reach the western end of Midgewater Marshes today. Luckily I always carry a tin of Nordic Summer ointment in my backpack, to help ward off the midges.
A very satisfying number to hit. I still can't believe I'm that far already.
I have passed Crickhollow and am gingerly making my way towards Old Man Willow. Hopefully I will escape and reach Tom Bombadil's house within the next 3 days, then I will enjoy a good meal with butter, cream and honey :-)
Today I snuck past my first black rider without getting noticed (and without noticing him).
Must pay more attention when I reach the next goal - meeting the elves.
Surprised how quickly this is going, even with a long ways left.
YES the milestone I've been waiting for!
Tons of small milestones at the start. Really good way to build that momentum and want to push myself more on weekends.
Made it to my first milestone of Tookland. I'm expecting this to start flying by once I'm back at work tomorrow.
1625 miles: Take the road home with the hobbits from Minas Tirith to Hobbiton.

535 miles from Minas Tirith to Isengard
693 miles from Isengard to Rivendell.
397 miles from Rivendell to Bag End.
Slow getting going, dog has been way distracting. Maybe if I renamed him to Samwise he could be a better traveling companion. Next milestone - encounter with the black rider.
I have been wanting to do this for a long time since I first read about the Eowyn Challenge. The app is downloaded now. I leave Bag End today, the long journey begins.
Started 21/9/20
This had a good start this time, but the recent wave of heat really stopped me. Really didn't feel like going out walking at all.
I walked 64 miles in May. Total miles so far is 171. I have left Bree and I am on the way to Rivendell. So far the weather has been good and it has been a nice walk.
14/0420 - The journey begins! Found the shire and Bagend after only 5.4 km!

16/04/20 - Another 2 km closer to Mordor! But we hardly left the shire yet!

18/04/20 - the journey continues slower than anticipated with another 2.2 km on the map.

As of 4-11-2020, I have walked 19 miles.

I want to get back in the habit to walk every day. Today I walked to the mailbox, which makes 2x 600m, so that will make just above 1km for today. Added to my previous attempt, that makes me 41,4 miles into the Walk. I'm heading toward encountering the Black Rider.
Just started, to keep myself consistent I will try adding an update every week so that I don't slacken
I've officially covered 1272.95 miles. Which means I've covered a little more than 300 miles in 10 weeks. I think that I've improved my daily walking habits a lot.

660 miles left! Mordor, here I come!
I started walking to Mordor on my own at the beginning of April 2014 - I'm at 1,752.36 miles left to go! :)

Track daily miles/steps to follow Sam and Frodo on the Walk to Mordor challenge.
My goal is to get to Rivendell by my birthday in February. That's 458 miles which will be a real event.
I started as of yesterday racking up a big 1.4 miles by walking to town twice.
I have officially walked 964.4 miles, which means I am 49.9% of the way done! I think that is as close to half done as I'll get without busting between now and the next time I log so, f*** yeah! Less than one year. Also, definitely need to walk more daily.

Crossed Redhorn Pass and an about to be attacked by Wargs. 760 miles down. Over 1000 still left. It's been 9 months since I started this thing. Maybe I'm not walking enough on the day to day..
So I started my walk to Mordor today. Forgive the ever-so-energentic smile on my face, it had been a long day at work lol. But it has begun
I met Glorfindel, passed to Ford of Bruinen, made it to Rivendell, back-tracked to the Ford of Bruinen, and am trekking slowly toward Holin Ridge. I have about 130 miles until I get to Holin Ridge and about 1372 miles to Mordor. I started this thing about 6 months ago and I am only 29% done with the journey. How did the Hobbits do this trip in only a few seasons?

Been awhile since I updated this. I have made it through Weathertop, past the Trollshaws, met Mr.Bilbo's Trolls and am nearly at the location where I can meet Glorfindel. The weather has cleared up nicely here in Beijing so I have taken to riding the bus into work and walking home. We'll see how much that changes. 405 miles down, 1527 miles to go.
