If you're brave enough, as I and three of the other "seniors" who rode the van from the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center to Acoma Sky City on 5/25/2016 were, you can hike down the side of the 360 foot mesa using stone steps and hand holds cut into the rock 500-900 years ago. Well done.
On top of the mesa that makes up Acoma Sky City, the buildings and I are 360 feet above the bushes on the floor of the canyon you can see at the far left. Sky City is the longest inhabited city/village in North America having been continuously occupied since the 1100s.
