I ran through some of the challenges in my last blog with my DJ son and he’s come up with enough bands to complete both the A-Z of new music and 31 days of new music. Every day in August I am going to listen to a minimum of 1 song. Not the most taxing of challenges but it’s fun, it’s something new and I’m really pleased one of my family joined in. He’s now trying to do something similar for his radio show. This makes me so happy. All the bands are a variation of roc & metal. I’ve listed them below in case anyone wishes to listen to something new themselves. There are 2 or 3 to choose from in each alphabet category:
A – Asking Alexandria (Alter Bridge, Architects, Amaranthe)
B – Breaking Benjamin (Bullet For My Valentine, Bowling For Soup)
C – Children of Bodom (Coheed and Cambria, Clutch)
D – Dream Theater (Dead Sara, Digital Summer, Dead by April)
E – Enter Shikari (Extreme, Eyes Set to Kill, Electric Callboy)
F – From First to Last (Fozzy, Faith No More, Fever 333)
G – Ghost (God Forbid, Gojira)
H – Halestorm (The HU, HammerFall, Hardcore Superstar)
I – Ice Nine Kills (In Flames, I Am Ghost)
J – Jinjer (Judas Priest, Jupiter Falls)
K – Kill Hannah (Kontrust, Killswitch Engage, Killer Be Killed)
L – Love and Death (Lamb of God, Light the Torch)

That’s the 26 letters of the alphabet. For the remaining 5 we are using bands with numbers in their names and will choose from these:
