Only 1 out of 1,000 baby turtles make it. I found that to be very depressing as I watched them struggle to get to the water. The uplifting side of this is that there are humans out there trying to help them out of extinction.
This class is only done once a year in the month of August and the classes were almost entirely booked when I snagged our spot in July. You are guaranteed to watch baby turtles crawl to the ocean.
We traveled four and a half hours to watch as baby Loggerhead & Green Sea Turtles were released into the ocean. No flash photos were allowed beforehand as it causes disorientation.
