Monon Trail
The Monon Trail is a rail trail in Indiana. It uses a portion of the Chicago-Indianapolis main line of the former Monon Railroad, which was abandoned between Indianapolis and Delphi, Indiana in 1987. The trail serves both bicyclists and pedestrians. It runs from Indianapolis into Carmel and Westfield, Indiana, a length of 16.7 miles (26.9 km). The 10.0 miles (16.1 km) of in Indianapolis were completed in 1999 and the 5.2 miles (8.4 km) in Carmel were opened between 2001 and 2002.
